Helping Parents Make Up Their Own Minds
Parents are faced with huge amounts of information ranging from Government advice, newspaper articles through to Jamie Oliver's recipes for school dinners. It's hardly surprising that some are confused about how a lunch box can contribute to healthy eating.
The aim of Healthy Lunch Box is to provide positive, non-judgemental advice and point parents to affordable lunch box suggestions and advice from a number of sources including the British Nutrition Foundation, the Food Standards Agency and the Department of Health.
Who Are We?
Healthy Lunch Box has been produced by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) on behalf of the UK food and drink manufacturing industry.
Julian Hunt, FDF's Director of Communications, said: “Healthylunchbox.co.uk enables a family, at a click of a mouse, to tap into a range of healthy eating advice on what they can put in their child's lunch box to ensure a healthy balanced diet.
"Children need a balanced diet with a good variety of foods to ensure that all their requirements for healthy development are met. This website is one small step to help your family make a big difference in achieving a balanced diet in your child's lunch box.”
